The Chain Ranch is full of tradition and history dating back to 1893 when Oscar Chain traded fifty dollars and a shotgun for 160 acres in Dewey County, Oklahoma. Since then, it has developed into a six generation owned and operated family business, with four ranches in Oklahoma, three in Kansas and several leased properties in both states.
The Ranch runs a cow/calf operation and handles stocker calves on grass and wheat pasture. They produce top-quality beef with an emphasis on all-natural product with no trace of antibiotics or hormones.
The Ranch farms approximately 10,000 acres of wheat, alfalfa and feed in Oklahoma and Kansas while incorporating canola, millet and milo into crop rotations.
In addition, The Ranch provides a variety of outdoor experiences through hunting and fishing adventures.
The Chain family has spent many generations working the land and they embody the true nature of conservation. As Ralph Chain said, “It’s all on loan from God and we’re here to take care of it.”
